Tony Reilly, OBE: My Career and Coaching

A hugely privileged overseas career, spanning 40 years, leading teams and operations across Europe (Turkey, Ireland), Asia (Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka), Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Morocco) and the Middle East (Oman, Kuwait, Iraq), allowed me to accumulate a wealth of experience as your executive coach. Personal encounters with outstanding leaders like Nelson Mandela, Kofi Annan, and Barack Obama, along the way, have inspired me and deepened my appreciation of visionary leadership.  Building strong, people to people relationships, based on trust and mutual understanding, has been at the heart of my own career journey. This helps me build trust and easy rapport with my clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Qualifications for executive coaches vary. There isn’t really an industry standard qualification. An executive coach should possess a combination of degree level qualifications, often in the humanities or social sciences, strong business acumen and leadership experience, specific coaching skills training and practical experience,  a recognised coaching qualification (e.g. ILM), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a life-long commitment to personal development and learning (i.e. a growth mindset).
